Summary

We are looking to make this event as fun and SAFE as possible and hereby we are looking for volunteers!

Detailed description

The Sint.Maarten's day relay race is a running event where 11 runners on one team will each run a 'leg' with a baton in hand and exchange this to next runner in their team, all along Sint.Maarten.

There will be runners on the road and we are looking for volunteers to guide them to the correct direction, and make sure there is no traffic build-up on the roads.

Are you available to be a volunteer? 🖐️

Type of volunteering:

- Traffic controllers at time stations: to keep the traffic flowing & make sure no spectators are on the road blocking the traffic.

- Traffic controllers at intersections: to guide runners to the correct direction.

Please leave a message with a WhatsApp number to contact.

About Road Runners Association

The Road Runners club started in 1984 by Malcolm Maidwell and Frits Bus. The Club slowly grew into a bigger group of runners, both from the Dutch and French side. Over the years, the Road Runners Club has always contributed to local charities and organized many races, including the Around the Island Relay Race that happens every November 11th on St.Maarten's Day.

In past years the Club has made its mark on the competitive landscape, especially in the long-running distance. However, many members also run shorter distances on both road and trails. The races provide various categories to allow persons with varied running experience to compete.

The Club invites: "runners and joggers of all levels, as well as walkers, to join and participate in club trainings and events. Our board and members are here to support each other. The camaraderie that we encourage is as important as the results and successes. So bring your family, well-behaved pets, and baby joggers out to the St.Maarten Road Runners practice runs or events and let's have fun!"

We, Road Runners, would greatly appreciate it if you would help us with volunteering for the upcoming running races. We're looking to ensure that runners (kids & adults) can run/walk safely on the SXM roads.
We are usually looking for volunteers for: water stops, traffic controllers, time keepers, finish liners, prize giving.
