About Road Runners Association

The Road Runners club started in 1984 by Malcolm Maidwell and Frits Bus. The Club slowly grew into a bigger group of runners, both from the Dutch and French side. Over the years, the Road Runners Club has always contributed to local charities and organized many races, including the Around the Island Relay Race that happens every November 11th on St.Maarten's Day.

In past years the Club has made its mark on the competitive landscape, especially in the long-running distance. However, many members also run shorter distances on both road and trails. The races provide various categories to allow persons with varied running experience to compete.

The Club invites: "runners and joggers of all levels, as well as walkers, to join and participate in club trainings and events. Our board and members are here to support each other. The camaraderie that we encourage is as important as the results and successes. So bring your family, well-behaved pets, and baby joggers out to the St.Maarten Road Runners practice runs or events and let's have fun!"

We, Road Runners, would greatly appreciate it if you would help us with volunteering for the upcoming running races. We're looking to ensure that runners (kids & adults) can run/walk safely on the SXM roads.
We are usually looking for volunteers for: water stops, traffic controllers, time keepers, finish liners, prize giving.
