About NIPA (National Institute for Professional Advancement)The National Institute for Professional Advancement (NIPA) offers advanced vocational education for students who want to further their education after secondary schools and adults already in the workforce. Our programs are tailored to the needs and interests of the labour market and the wider St. Maarten community.
Currently managed by director Sergio Blomont, NIPA is the only government-recognized institute for advanced vocational and technical education in St. Maarten.
Apprenticeships vary from short (partial qualifications over a few weeks) to full levels, up to 4 years, and cover many relevant areas. See our courses for more information.
We engage resources and professional staff whose sole objective is to help all our students succeed in their educational goals and to build stronger communities.
NIPA's goals are:
✔ Provide premium quality vocational and technical education that is widely recognized.
✔ Offer challenging programs in order to develop essential skills in critical thinking, problem-solving skills, effective communication, and proficiency in the use of technology.
✔ Sustain a caring, supportive, and success-driven climate throughout the institution.
✔ Make educational and career opportunities accessible to all.
✔ Form strong and lasting partnerships with the business community that will strengthen St. Martin's position in the tourism industry.
✔ Employ, develop, and retain the best personnel to suit the needs of the institution in serving our clients.
We envision NIPA as a model of innovation, inclusiveness and excellence in professional vocational education, and recognized as an important pathway to rewarding careers in our country in the region and abroad.
