Summary

We are looking for Digital volunteers. Working in the industry of Information Communication Technologies or Skilled, become a Corporate Volunteer of CIFSEF!!!

Detailed description

Position Description: A Digital Classroom Teacher presents structured classes in basic computer functions for registered students. A teacher may develop lesson plans or work with CIFSEF staff in the preparation of class outlines. The use of volunteer teachers will increase the number of classes that can be offered, for instance at senior-based organizations such as Home away from Home and Senior Recreational Center. Additionally, teachers will work closely with Digital Coach volunteers as such to provide direct in-class support.

Qualifications: Digital Classroom Teachers must be very knowledgeable about the application to be taught and be able to communicate well with groups of students. A teacher will need to be patient and able to encourage students in their learning. Teachers will need to be available at times that students are able to attend classes.

Length of Commitment: Will be negotiated. In general, Digital Classroom Teacher volunteers are asked to commit to a four-month involvement with the center.

Time Involvement: Teachers will generally need to attend a scheduled two-hour orientation before starting. The time for planning and delivery of a class will be dependent on whether the class has been developed and given previously and how many sessions are needed to cover the material. Because students will be registered for classes and will expect them to be given on time, it is essential that teachers be present and prepared when scheduled.
