About Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation St. Maarten.

On April 14, 1966, Dharma Master Cheng Yen founded the Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation in Taiwan, with thirty housewives, who put aside fifty cents (US$.02) a day of their grocery money into Bamboo Bank to establish a charity foundation. Their objective was to provide relief and assistance to the people in needs in areas of charity, medicine, education, culture, international relief, bone marrow donation, environmental protection and community volunteerism . We are in St. Maarten practicing exactly in the same areas following their guidelines. We provide long term monthly food program and emergency cash relief, rice donation, visiting senior institutions, repairing houses and house cleaning etc.
